After last week's anti-Japanese demonstrations in Chengdu, Beijing, and Guangzhou, police increased their presence around sensitive areas including this Japanese restaurant on Tiyu Dong Lu in Guangzhou's Tianhe district. The restaurant was open for business, but the signs above both entrances were covered with large tarps. Authorities also succeeded in thwarting a march that was to begin at a nearby stadium.
